Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

In light of concerns regarding coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to keep you informed of proactive measures we are undertaking to protect our residents, staff and visitors from exposure and prepare for the possible spread of illness. Our priority is the health and safety of our residents and staff. Accordingly, we are closely monitoring announcements from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and New York Department of Health (DOH) and following agency guidance in addition to consulting industry resources.

Please note that we are constantly evaluating our policies and protocols in view of the new constant information that continues to change all of the time. We will do our best to keep you apprised of changes by updating this notice.

Visitation is now open, please follow the following procedures when visiting.:

As of 12/20/21, Covid rates are extremely high in Nassau and Suffolk county and continue to rise on a daily basis. We encourage all to receive their flu shot this season as well.

March 4th Update

As of February 23, 2021, New York State Department of Health Revised Guidance, visitors must present a verified negative Covid test result within 72 hours ( 3 days) and visitation must be refused if the individual(s) fails to present such negative test result, exhibits any Covid-19 symptoms or does not pass screening questions. Visitors must wear a face mask and remain socially distant and visitors under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Prior to concerns about COVID-19, we had infection prevention and control procedures in place to maximize the health and safety of the vulnerable population we serve. We have enhanced our existing protocols to minimize the risk of exposure and to provide clinical and operational personnel the information and tools necessary to address the situation as it evolves.

The following is a summary of measures undertaken to date consistent with regulatory guidance:

Visitation

Visitors for whom visitation is permitted under the limited exceptions may not visit if they have a fever, shortness of breath, cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea as noted in the poster published by DOH.

We know that this will be challenging for our residents and their families and loved ones and appreciate your understanding and cooperation in order to protect the health and safety of your loved ones.

Visitors will be screened prior to entry for the following risk factors:

Volunteers, Non-Essential Vendors and Companions

We have advised volunteers, non-essential vendors and companions to refrain from coming to the facility at this time.
